In March of 2022, I retired from the Grand Junction Police Department after nearly 17 years of service to this incredible community. During my time on the force, I served as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Street Crimes Unit Officer, SWAT Officer, Defensive & Patrol Tactics Instructor, Corporal, and Field Training Officer. It was an honor to work alongside the dedicated men and women of the GJPD, all committed to keeping our city safe.
I was born and raised on the Front Range of Colorado, where I grew up riding horses, playing sports, and learning the ropes of the family cattle business. I earned my degree in Agricultural Business from Colorado State University (go Rams!), where I also met my wife, Summer. We married in 1996 and now have three amazing daughters, ages 24, 22, and 19. Our oldest two are proud CSU graduates, and our youngest is currently enrolled there as well, so yes, we’re a Rams family through and through!
Before law enforcement, I worked as a commodity trader in Chicago, Memphis, and Washington State, and later as a benefits specialist, helping companies across Colorado with insurance and employee benefits.
I’ve also spent over 20 years in residential real estate, managing a small portfolio of pet-friendly rental homes across the Grand Valley. I take pride in providing great spaces for tenants and have learned so much through that hands-on experience.
Outside of work, I love spending time with family, including our German Shepherds. Whether we’re exploring the Grand Mesa, attending community events, or working on our small orchard, we love making the most of our time together.
Now, as Mayor of Grand Junction, I’m focused on continuing my service to our community, whether through public policy, collaboration with nonprofits, or championing the voices of everyday residents.
