About Me

After devoting nearly 17 years to the Grand Junction Police Department, I wrapped up my service in March 2022. During my time there, I held a variety of positions, including Patrol Officer, Detective, Street Crimes Unit Officer, SWAT Officer, Defensive & Patrol Tactics Instructor, Corporal, and Field Training Officer. Working alongside the dedicated individuals at the GJPD to ensure the safety of our city was a privilege.

My upbringing was in the Front Range of Colorado, where I enjoyed activities like horseback riding, sports, and assisting with the family cattle business. I graduated with a degree in Agricultural Business from Colorado State University, where I met my spouse, Summer. We got married in 1996 and are now proud parents to three daughters, aged 24, 22, and 19. The two elder daughters graduated from CSU, and the youngest is currently pursuing her education there, solidifying our family's connection to the Rams.

Before joining law enforcement, I explored commodity trading in cities such as Chicago, Memphis, and Washington State. I also worked as a benefits specialist helping Colorado companies with insurance and employee benefits. Additionally, I managed pet-friendly rental properties in the Grand Valley's residential real estate sector for over 20 years, taking pride in offering exceptional living spaces for tenants.

Apart from my professional pursuits, spending quality time with my family, including our German Shepherds, is a top priority. Whether we're exploring the Grand Mesa, engaging in community events, or tending to our small orchard, treasuring these moments together is essential.

Currently serving on the Grand Junction City Council, my primary focus is on enhancing community service through initiatives like public policy advocacy, partnerships with nonprofits, and amplifying the voices of ordinary residents.
