About Cody
Grand Junction City Council Member, District A
Grand Junction, I’ve served you for seventeen years as a police officer. I finished my career as a detective, solving complex financial crimes and homicide cases.
I’m a small business owner with over twenty years of experience with housing in the Grand Valley.
I’m a volunteer with local nonprofit organizations and have a passion for affordable housing.
I’m a father of three amazing young women and a husband of a Grand Valley educator!
I continue to serve Grand Junction as a member of YOUR City Council.
I take this commitment seriously and am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve OUR community.

In March of 2022, Cody retired from the Grand Junction Police Department after serving the community of Grand Junction as a law enforcement officer for almost seventeen years. During that time, he functioned as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Street Crimes Unit Officer, SWAT Officer, Defensive & Patrol Tactics Instructor, Corporal, and Field
In March of 2022, Cody retired from the Grand Junction Police Department after serving the community of Grand Junction as a law enforcement officer for almost seventeen years. During that time, he functioned as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Street Crimes Unit Officer, SWAT Officer, Defensive & Patrol Tactics Instructor, Corporal, and Field Training Officer. For Cody, it was a true privilege to work with the outstanding men and women of the Grand Junction Police Department while helping to ensure the safety of his community.

Cody and his family have lived in the same Redlands neighborhood for 20 years. He and his wife, Summer, were married in 1996 and have three amazing daughters, now ages 22, 20, and 17. Summer is a Grand Valley educator, and their daughters aspire to be teachers as well!

Cody is a volunteer board member for Crime Stoppers of Mesa County and has a leadership role with Grand Valley Resettlement Program – a local nonprofit supporting Afghan refugees making their home in Mesa County. This year Cody also served on the Latino Coalition for Community Leadership’s local planning team for the Transforming Safety H
Cody is a volunteer board member for Crime Stoppers of Mesa County and has a leadership role with Grand Valley Resettlement Program – a local nonprofit supporting Afghan refugees making their home in Mesa County. This year Cody also served on the Latino Coalition for Community Leadership’s local planning team for the Transforming Safety House Bill. This team of community leaders from various backgrounds and organizations worked together to direct state funds to some of the most vulnerable populations in Grand Junction.

Compassionate Fiscal Responsibility
Balancing the ongoing requirements of fiscal responsibility with local tax dollars with compassion for the needs of all our citizens.
Affordable Housing
Addressing the local affordable housing crisis by encouraging smart infill to create inviting neighborhoods where people can afford to live in all areas of our great city.
Public Safety
Supporting the Police Department in recruiting and hiring officers to maintain staffing levels set by the City of Grand Junction to ensure continuity of public safety.
Partnering to make a difference
Partnering with local governments and non-profits to provide an actionable plan to address homeless/houseless, vagrancy, mental health, and addiction in our community.
